Portal to the Stars goes beyond the idea of earth in isolation, of gender specific figures and religious doctrine and embraces the scientific understanding of the universe in harmony with spiritual beliefs.
Flower symbols honour the duality of masculine and feminine energies in the phallus and cup-shaped heads, with the God & Goddess colours of gold and silver.
Our hands are the tools of our physical creativity: the power behind our ability to manifest heaven on earth: “as above, so below.”
The Major Arcana replaced the 10 Commandments of her religious upbringing, but the hotchpotch of Egyptian, Christian and Gypsy symbolism adopted by Rider Waite always seemed to lack cohesion. This is her answer.
Spray and brush painted on 22 original canvases, and transformed into a tarot deck these pictures follow the moral and symbolic teachings of Rider Waite’s Major Arcana System to help us understand our higher purpose and destiny.

JO NUSKE
Jo is a psychic tarot reader, and teacher of 25 years. She also writes and illustrates childrens’ stories and poems and loves the creative experience of art in different mediums. The power of sharing knowledge inspired her to found “Serene Spirit.” She has embraced formal study within Academia in the subjects of philosophy, psychology, religious doctrines, quantum physics, the workings of the body and mind, alternative healing and remedies and the new scientific understanding of psychic phenomenon.
